Terms of use

These terms govern use of PrintEngine website software and related online services operated by Astros Marketing (Pty) Ltd. By using the site, you agree to the conditions below for browsing, quoting, ordering, proofing and account use.

1. Using the site and your account

The site is provided for print shops, corporate buyers and authorised staff who need product builders, artwork upload, proofing, pricing and order tracking tools. You must give accurate business details, keep login credentials private and make sure anyone acting for your business has authority to place orders or approve artwork.

  • Use the site only for lawful business purposes.
  • Keep account information current and complete.
  • Do not share access outside your organisation without permission.
  • Take care that submitted contact and billing details are correct.

We may suspend access where account activity creates risk, misuse or operational problems for the platform or other users.

2. Product builders, prices and proofing

Product builders, live price matrices and proofing tools are supplied to help users configure common print products and review artwork before production. Final production suitability remains your responsibility, including spelling, layout choices, sizes, colours and any client approvals you need to obtain before release.

  • Displayed prices may change if specifications, quantities or finishing options change.
  • Proofs, previews and on-screen colours are not a substitute for print-ready approval.
  • Artwork rules and preflight checks are there to reduce avoidable production faults.
  • Where a file fails a rule, the order may pause until corrected artwork is supplied.

Some products need extra review because of folds, bleeds, variable data or special finishes, and those checks form part of normal production control.

3. Orders, payment and delivery handling

Orders submitted through the platform only become active once the required information, payment conditions and production details are in place. If payment is made online, the transaction is handled through the available payment workflow for that order. Where courier or delivery information is available, it is used to support dispatch planning and tracking, but delivery remains subject to address accuracy, service coverage and third-party handling.

  • Check order specifications before final submission.
  • Make sure delivery instructions are clear and usable.
  • Allow for production steps, stock checks and courier routing.
  • Extra fees may apply where specifications change after approval.

If a site order contains incomplete details, production may wait until the missing item is supplied or the order is amended.

4. B2B portals and client-specific settings

B2B portals may include custom pricing, role-based access, approved product sets, user permissions and account-specific workflows for corporate clients. These settings are configured to match business rules agreed during setup, and they may differ from the public storefront.

  • Portal access can be limited to named users or approved groups.
  • Pricing and products may vary by account, branch or role.
  • Approval steps may be required before a job reaches production.
  • Clients are responsible for managing who can order or approve within their account.

We may adjust portal structure, catalogue scope or workflow rules where business needs change, provided the platform can support the change cleanly.

5. Artwork, files and content responsibility

You remain responsible for any text, images, logos, trademarks and other material uploaded to the platform. By submitting files, you confirm that you have the right to use and reproduce the content and that it does not infringe another party’s rights. We may reject files that are unsafe, incomplete, technically unsuitable or outside our production rules.

  • Submitted files should be print-ready where the product requires it.
  • Artwork must meet the stated size, bleed and format rules.
  • Illegal, harmful or misleading content is not permitted.
  • We may hold or decline work that creates legal or production risk.

Where a client asks for help with setup, templates or training, that support does not shift legal ownership of the content or remove the duty to approve final artwork carefully.

6. Platform limits, interruptions and legal responsibility

The platform is provided with reasonable care, but no online system is free from interruptions, maintenance windows, network faults or third-party service problems. We do not accept responsibility for losses caused by events outside our control, including connectivity failures, carrier issues, power interruptions at external service providers or delays caused by customer data errors.

To the fullest extent allowed by South African law, our responsibility is limited to the direct service we supply. We are not liable for indirect loss, lost profit, missed opportunities or production issues that arise from incorrect input, late approval, unsuitable files or third-party handling beyond our control.

7. Contact, updates and governing law

Questions about these terms, account access or service conditions can be submitted through our contact form. We may update these terms when the platform, legal requirements or service structure changes, and the version posted on the site will apply from the time it is published. Continued use of the site after a change means the updated terms are accepted.

These terms are governed by South African law. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining parts continue to apply.
